Lily Koto Olive is a New York-based artist, writer and musician. She began to write critically about art in 2010 while attending the New York Academy of Art for her MFA in Painting. She has exhibited her work at Sotheby’s, HERE Arts Center, Sloan Fine Arts, and ISE Cultural Foundation in NYC, the Dumbo Arts Center in Brooklyn, NY, Marketplace Gallery in Albany, NY, The Museum in Leipzig, Germany and ZSenne in Brussels, Belgium. Lily is also a contributing writer for The Brooklyn Rail.

Co Founder

Jonathan Beer is a New York-based artist and writer. He began to write critically in 2010 while attending the New York Academy of Art for his MFA in Painting. His paintings have been exhibited at Miami Dade Museum of Art & Design, Tripoli Patterson Gallery, Kathleen Cullen Fine Arts, Flowers Gallery, Boltax Gallery and Sotheby’s. Jon is also a contributing writer for The Brooklyn Rail, ArtWrit and for Art Observed.

In 2011 they joined forces and co founded the online publication

Contributing Writers

Rachelle Reichert is a San Francisco based artist.  Her paintings have been nationally and internationally exhibited including exhibitions at the German Consulate in New York City, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Galleria il Sotoportego in Venice, Italy, Sloane Fine Art in New York City and Southern Exposure in San Francisco.  Rachelle received her BFA from Boston University in 2007.

Sarah Elise Hall is a New York and Toronto based artist and writer. Her work has been exhibited with  Janinebean Gallery ( Berlin), the Drabinsky Gallery (Toronto), MUSE CPMI  Center for Photography and the Moving Image ( New York),  Islip Art Museum, ( Islip, NY)  and Galerija Zvono ( Belgrade). Recently her work was  included in Michael Petry’s book, Nature Morte, published by Thames & Hudson Press.

Stavros Pavlides is a New York-based artist and writer.  In addition to writing for Art-Rated, Stavros is also a contributing writer for ArtWrit.

Jacob Hicks is a Brooklyn-based painter, writer and curator.  His work has been exhibited at RH Gallery and Sloan Fine Arts in NYC, One Mile Gallery in Kingston, NY, Halle 14 in Leipzig, Germany, Dominican University in River Forest, IL, and Saint Elizabeth College in NJ. Jacob received his BFA from Southern Methodist University in Texas, and his MFA from the New York Academy of Art in NYC.
